I am many things:
bipolar,
believer,
biker,
bizarre (my friend says I’m odd),
benign,
bartlett.
I have within my head thoughts of all these constantly mixed, so that my biker pieces reflect a bipolar slant on the world, or my utter belief belies a psychotic perspective, two contradictions. So I created three blogs which I found impossible as one cannot separate parts of oneself. I have subsequently decided to consolidate all these into one Trambellings blog. Yes, some articles may be offensive to some readers, but this is who I am.
About me
Zimbabwean by birth, a naturalized South African citizen, I’ve traveled to Australia, Singapore, Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, France, Germany, the UK, Ireland, Miami, Texas, and the northern half of West Coast USA. I have family in Kobe, Japan, and Guam, mid-Pacific, both sides of Australia, and in the states. In my dreams I plan a ride up through Zambia just to have a look.![]()
One of my passions in life is to take my BMW Dakar out along a dusty path, to take pictures of places no-one goes to, be it 100km on a Sunday afternoon or a tour of the Northern Cape one hot weekend in January. I’m a traveler. Time to think, lots of it. No time to avoid issues, no time to beat around a bush, no time to pretend to be what I’m not.

Dirt roads are best! Cedarberg, just above Citrusdal on the Op-die-Berg road
Facing life as it is.
Life, when walked, has scenes where life goes my way, scenes where it looks like it could go my way, and scenes where I try but fail. It is in this third scene where one learns the real gem. Character. Character to get up and try again. Character to admit one’s shortcomings. Character. Integrity. Perseverance. The whole of life.
Facing life as it is.
I’ve programmed for the past 24 years, but last year did IT Forensics, and now am back into programming. I have an extremely analytical mind, sometimes to my detriment. I’m open to free discussion on any topic I post, and I’d welcome your comments.
My writings were inspired by a friend who said I write well.
Leave a comment, make my day!
thanks,
dennis bartlett

Dennis, thanks for the link on BipolarSA. I started reading here after Simon told me about your piece on xenophobia. I am speechless!! This site will now be a regular visit for me.

I have already submitted a comment about your excellent article – I don’t know if you received it. I’m writing to you here about the recent discussion you opened about how to run the bipolarsa site – ground rules etc. Underneath there is not the usual comment button, only a request for an email addess. I’m not very good with computers, so don’t know how to reply. Could you please give a hint ?
